The Competition
Your Favourite Female Ancestor
Write and submit a story about your favourite female ancestor and/or matriarch.
Story can be between 1500 - 2500 words, and must include at least one photograph suitable for the front cover of the journal. This photo can be of her wedding and can include the groom.
Conditions
Must be your own work, typed, spell checked, and with all sources listed. Must be researched and historically accurate, engaging and interesting and include any copyright permission(s) and/or licence(s). If the story has been previously published, please advise when and where, and the submitter must have exclusive copyright.

Actual story must not include author's details - entries blind judged by a panel, which will not include the current editor.
Closing date
Closes at midnight [AWST] Sunday 13th November 2011.
The winning author will be notified, personally by email, and results published on the Society's website, no later than 29th February 2012.
The Prize
The winning story will be published in the March 2012 issue of Western Ancestor, with your matriarch's photograph on the cover, and you will receive a WA Genealogical Society gift voucher to the value of $50.00, plus a complimentary copy of the journal.
