WAGS now Open 2nd Sunday each Month
WAGS Management Committee have approved a proposal that WAGS Library be open on the second Sunday of each month during 2009, between 1pm and 5pm commencing Sunday 8th February 2009 (not alternate Sundays). Fliers have already been placed in the WAGS Library and notices will appear in the ‘Have A Go' newspaper as well as in the Can You Help section of the ‘West Australian' on Monday 2nd February.
- Following is the rationale behind the proposal
- To provide an additional opportunity for ALL members to enjoy WAGS facilities.
- Public transport on Sundays is free for WA Seniors (bus and train stops are approximately 15 minutes walk from May Street).
- Those members who are in full-time employment would have another opportunity to visit WAGS at least once a month.
- Most ‘seniors' activities take place Monday to Friday, often leaving weekends free.
- Many sports events take place on Saturdays so Sunday opening would provide another opportunity for sporting enthusiasts to do their research at WAGS.
Excepting Sunday 12th April (Easter Sunday) a small group of enthusiastic volunteers will staff the Library and do their best to help you with your genealogical research between 1pm and 5pm on the following Sundays:
Sunday 8th February
Sunday 8th March
Sunday 10th May
Sunday 14th June
Sunday 12th July
Sunday 9th August - OPEN DAY - Open to members of the public as part of the National Family History Week events.
Sunday 13th September
Sunday 11th October
Sunday 8th November
Sunday 13th December
We look forward to welcoming you - please remember to bring your current membership card with you and small change for any print-outs or photocopies you may wish to make. Another friendly reminder; kindly refrain from parking in the parking bays allocated to Units 1, 2 & 3 as the owners of those Units may wish to attend their businesses on Sundays.
WAGS normal opening times are available on our Library page
