WAGS New Management Committee
A very successful and enjoyable Annual General Meeting was held on Sunday 27th June. There was a very positive vibe during the AGM and afterwards at the wonderful afternoon tea. I would like to thank all those that provided the food and/or helped set up and clean up afterwards.
I am pleased to announce the new Management Committee that was elected at the AGM.

Volunteering at WAGS and New Member Orientation Sessions
The success of WAGS is very reliant on our volunteers! Are you one of the volunteers? If so, thank you very much. Or would you like to be a volunteer but don't know what is involved? Even though we have many volunteers during a variety of jobs at WAGS we can always do with more helpers.

Societies, Family and ANZAC Day
What a busy month April has been, first with Easter and then Anzac Day. In between these two important events Ralph and I squeezed in a private trip to Victoria which included a Family Reunion and a visit the Genealogical Society of Victoria (GSV) Library.

Happy 1st Birthday
On January 16th our new updated WAGS website celebrated its first birthday and we have recorded over 120,000 visitors to the website. Congratulations to Chris Loudon, our webmaster, for keeping the website up-to-date and continually adding new pages. Also thank you to all the other members who regularly update their pages.

New Management Committee
A new Management Committee was elected at the Annual General Meeting on 28th June. I would like to welcome two new members, Ian Lister and Brian Golding. Ian has been a WAGS member for 2 years and Brian joined WAGS last year. It is good to see that they are willing to be involved in WAGS decision making and it will be good to have their fresh input.

Remembering our Mothers
I am writing this message on Mothers Day, 10th May 2009. Mums are very special people. This is a time to reflect, think of all the good times and be thankful for everything that our Mums have given to us.
