10.30am - 12.00     Australian Joint Copying Project: what is it and where do I start?

Have you always wished you could get your hands on documents hidden away in archives in the UK? You may be surprised to learn that many of them are available on microfilm right here at the State Library. Records include documents relating to convicts, soldiers, early settlers and more.

1.00pm - 2.30pm   Black and white and read all over

An introduction to digitized historic newspapers including Trove, the Times Digital Archive, British Newspapers, and more.

The talks are free but you MUST register

Register in person at WAGS library, Unit 5, 48 May st, Bayswater or call (08) 9271 4311 during library hours.

 

We run a series of FREE informal lunchtime talks and guided discussions on various topics in Unit 4, 48 May St, Bayswater.  You do not need to book to attend - just bring your lunch and come along (tea and coffee provided).  All are welcome.

The format for Genie Chatter is an overview of the topic, given by a member experienced in that field, followed by general discussion and a Q&A session.  Semester 1 focuses on the physical resources to be found at WAGS. Semester 2 focuses on our internet resources.

They run from 12.00 - 1.30pm on the 2nd Monday of most months.

Outside the Box is a series of talks by accomplished family history problem-solvers, and professionals in related areas, who share their experience in an informal setting where everyone is encouraged to add to the knowledge base.

March and April talks run from 11.30am - 1.00pm on the 4th Sunday. The talks from July to November run from 11.00am - 12.30pm on the 4th Sunday of the month.
