When: Sun, 11-Mar-2012, 10:00am - 12:00pm
Where: WAGS Unit 4 - Bayswater
Topics - as below

Presentation: Holy Island (Lindisfarne) - Presenter: Wendy Brown

Holy Island (Lindisfarne) - To the south of the more modern road-surface causeway, a series of stakes mark the old route across to Holy Island called the `Pilgrims Way', which was used in ancient times by visitors to the great Christian centre of Lindisfarne.

Presentation: Famines - Presenter: Evadne Spickett

Famines - One of the worst Cumbrian harvests in memory is happening right now, but at least in Britain today it is unlikely that anyone will actually die of starvation after a poor harvest. Our ancestors were not so lucky and famine was relatively common.

Presentation: History of Leyland Motors - Presenter: Brian Jervis

Leyland Motors - Leyland Motors has a long history dating from 1896, when the Sumner and Spurrier families founded the Lancashire Steam Motor Company in the town of Leyland, in north west England. Their first products included steam lawn mowers.
