Martin Davidson will take you on a virtual tour of his website. See and ask questions about how he has designed and displayed his family's history in such an easy to follow and reader friendly format.

Where to start? Lee-Ann Atkinson will show you how to build your family tree and record your findings.
Starting with what you already have, you will find out how and where to find birth, death and marriage records and certificates; how to use census records; where to find Church records and how to obtain them. You will also get lots of useful websites and tips to further your research.

Mike Murray, a professional family historian and genealogist will introduce you to some free and pay-to-view websites which are beneficial for researching family history in the UK. He will demonstrate how to get the best out of each site and discuss the benefits and challenges of using the internet for research.
FOCUSING ON FAMILY FOTOS New

Julie Martin will take you through the practicalities of sorting, selecting, storing and looking for clues in your family photographs. Julie reveals what original photos can tell you about your family history. how to research the information in photos and how to house photographs to minimise deterioration. Suggestions for locating pictorial resources in repositories and on the web are also outlined. This course does not deal with digital photos.
RESEARCHING WA ANCESTORS & THEIR DESCENDANTS

Venue: State Library of WA, James Street, Perth (Great Southern Room, 4th floor)
Neil Bradley, who has been researching his WA family for over 10years will share what's available online for obtaining information about your WA ancestors. He will also cover key WA source material available at WAGS to help you link up the fragments of your extended family into a coherent tree.
Leonie Hayes and Tricia Fairweather, genealogy librarians at the State Library, will take you through on-line access to their databases, helping you gain access to the vast number of Western Australian records they hold.
Please bring note-taking materials and arrange for your own lunch from 12:00-12:30pm.

Registrations are processed in the order they are received. If payment is received after a course is fully booked a refund will be made.
PLEASE NOTE: By booking and purchasing a seat on a course, you automatically agree to the following conditions:
- WAGS Courses may be cancelled without notice, if you have made a booking we will use our best efforts to notify you if a course is cancelled.
- If you have paid for a course which is cancelled by WAGS, you will receive a full refund of the fees paid. WAGS accept no liability for any other costs incurred by you for cancelled courses.
- If you fail to attend a course, and have not given WAGS a minimum of 7 days advance notice that you will not be attending, no refund will be given. At WAGS discretion, if you choose to enrol for a later course, WAGS may grant a credit towards that other course.
- If WAGS receive 7 days advance notice of your non attendance, and we are able to fill your vacant position, a refund may be granted at WAGS discretion.
